Risa Horiuchi is an aspiring childrens book writer and illustrator who goes to the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She grew up in Connecticut, and has lived in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Washington states before coming back to the East Coast.

She is inspired by the work of Raymond Briggs, Charlotte Voake, Sergio Ruzzier, and Jon Klassen. She has illustrated for books such as "Truck 335: The Truck with a Big Heart" and "The Story of Pete and Ralph".She likes ink, pencil, and etching. Along wtih writing and drawing, she also enjoys cooking, bike riding, playing with cats and fun sock patterns.
